S.D.J.M.I.M.C is an important trust of Shri Kshetra Shravanabelagola and is chaired by His Holiness Jagadguru Charukeerthi Panditacharyavarya Bhattaraka Pattacharyavarya Maha Swamiji. This trust includes S.S.D.J.P. Sangha(R), S.E.T(R), B.P.V(R) trusts of various groups, working with social objectives in mind. This S.D.J.M.I.M.C Trust in Shravanabelagola manages the world famous hill Vindyagiri, of Lord Bahubali with a history of 2300 years, Chandragiri where Bhadra Bahumuni and Maurya Emperor Chandragupta's Samadhi is located, Pratinidhi or daily worship arrangements in the surrounding villages, Accomadation, Pure food arrangement to all devotees coming to the Kshetra, Arrangement of all religious and social functions held in the Sri Kshetra, carrying out of restoration works and complete arrangements required for the dignitaries coming to the Sri Kshetra since 1967 under the guidance and leadership of Pujyashri.

The one-thousand-year Mahamastakabhisheka of Lord Gommateshwara Bahubali Swami, held in 1981 at Sri Kshetra Shravanabelagola, marked a significant moment in history. During this auspicious event, His Holiness Jagadguru Karmayogi Swasthishree Charukeerti Bhattaraka Swamiji envisioned the establishment of a Sangha dedicated to providing quality education to the student community of Shravanabelagola and its surrounding villages.

Under the patronage, guidance and great leadership of His Holiness Jagadguru Swastishree Charukeerthi Bhattarakka Swamiji, Shri Kshetra Shravanabelagola is getting all round development. Many religious, social, cultural, literary, health care and educational activities are carried out throughout the year. Shrutakevali Education Trust (R) was established on 21st July 1982 under the guidance of the Founder President Parampujya Jagadguru Karmayogi Swastishree Charukeerthi Bhattarak Swamiji.

Bahubali Prakrit Vidyapeeth is 80G and CSR certified. Established in 1993.
This trust was spun off from Shrutakevali Education Trust (R.) to form an Institute to protect and propagate prakrit language and their literature through teaching, editing and research. This is now a deemed university in the name of Bahubali Prakrit University, Shravanabelagola.The University actively enrolls more than 1,000 students annually across its distance-learning programs, and it has successfully graduated thousands of scholars since its founding, including a cohort of 132 students during its inaugural convocation alone.
This trust operates as the primary administrative and religious body managing the historic Atishaya Kshetra in Vijayapura, Karnataka. Structurally, the leadership of the trust includes highly revered spiritual guides and local administrators, traditionally headed by Shri Charukeerti Bhattarak Mahaswami as the President, alongside Minister Shri D. P. Nagavi and Executive Shri Dhnyakumar Ramchand Shaha. The trust is legally tasked with the ongoing conservation of the landmark temple site, local pilgrimage security, and the physical maintenance of the exceptionally rare 1,500-year-old, 1008-headed serpent idol of Lord Parshwanath.
Financially and operationally, the charitable trust channels community donations directly into regional development and guest welfare. It manages the day-to-day operations of the Sahasraphani Parshwanath Digambar Jain Dharmashala, ensuring clean boarding facilities, water resources, and an operating bhojanashala (dining hall) to feed arriving travelers. Additionally, the trust coordinates with regional authorities to handle large crowds during the annual fairs of Poush Badi Ekadashi and Shravan Shukla Saptami, while funding nearby excavation updates and preservation projects to accommodate tourists visiting the broader Bijapur historical circuit
History
Shravanabelagola, a world-renowned Jain pilgrimage center, is adorned with sacred Kalpavriksha (wish-fulfilling trees). This holy site is sanctified by the presence of the final Shrutakevali (omniscient teacher) of Jainism, Acharya Shri Bhadrabahu Swami, and the Mauryan emperor Chandragupta, who attained samadhi here after renouncing worldly life.
The hill of Chandragiri, was known until the early 10th century as Katavupura Giri or Kalavappu, and served as a spiritual center for monks and ascetics.
The great general and chief minister Chavundaraya under Ganga dynasty, fulfilling the wish of his mother Kalaladevi, under the blessings and guidance of the spiritual leader Acharya Nemichandra Siddhanta Chakravarti, commissioned the grand statue of Gommateshwara (Bahubali).
This site, home to 40 Jain temples, holds the highest number of stone inscriptions (573) in Karnataka, including the earliest Marathi inscription, various Nishidhi mandapas (memorials) and sacred Kalyanis (tanks).
Shravanabelagola, beautifully adorned and historically rich for over 2300 years, was known in ancient times by several names such as Kalavappa, Katavapra, Jain Bhadripura, Pargalvappu, Dhavalateertha and Belgola. For nearly 2500 years, this place has remained a prominent and uninterrupted center of Digambara Jainism.
Jain tradition associates Shravanabelagola with Acharya Bhadrabahu and Chandragupta Maurya, linking the place to ideals of renunciation, discipline, and spiritual retreat.
The great Gommateshwara Bahubali statue is traditionally connected with Chavundaraya, whose patronage helped make the hill a landmark of Jain devotion.
Successive patrons, administrators, and donors supported temples, inscriptions, festivals, and facilities that kept the sacred landscape active across centuries.
Monks, teachers, researchers, artists, families, and international visitors continue to come for prayer, study, ceremony, and an encounter with Jain heritage. At the heart of this enduring legacy stands Acharya Shantisagar, the modern revivalist whose supreme discipline single-handedly restored the ancient path of the 24 Tirthankaras for generations to come.
The 58-foot (17.7 m) statue of Bhagwan Bahubali was carved from a single colossal granite outcrop atop Vindhyagiri around 981 CE, completely free-standing without any joint or pillar support.
In a nationwide public poll conducted in 2007, the Gomateshwara statue at Shravanabelagola was voted the Number One Wonder of India, surpassing monumental landmarks across the country.
Shravanabelagola preserves the highest concentration of ancient stone inscriptions in Karnataka, documented in Kannada, Sanskrit, Tamil, Marathi, and Marwari, spanning over 1,200 years.
The base of the Bahubali statue carries the famous 10th-century inscription 'Śrīcāvuṇḍarājēṁ karaviyalēṁ' (commissioned by Chavundaraya), recognized as one of the oldest extant inscriptions in the Marathi language.
The town's name combines 'Shravana' (referring to Jain ascetics / Shramanas) and 'Belagola' (from Kannada Bili-gola, meaning clean white pond), named after the central Kalyani tank situated between the twin hills.
In the 3rd century BCE, Mauryan Emperor Chandragupta renounced his vast empire, travelled south with guru Acharya Bhadrabahu, and spent his final contemplative years in meditation at Chandragiri.
