The Iruve Brahmadeva Basadi is a small, solitary rock-cut Jain shrine located just north of the main temple enclosure on Chandragiri Hill in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka.It is carved directly into a natural granite boulder and houses a low-relief image of Lord Brahmadeva, who serves as a guardian deity or Yaksha in the Digambara Jain tradition.Dating back to the late phase of early Western Ganga and subsequent architectural styles, its name translates to "ant" in Kannada, reflecting its modest size compared to the larger surrounding structural temples.The site holds historical value due to nearby ancient inscriptions that have helped scholars trace the evolution of early Kannada literature and regional monastic life.
