ಭ. ಶ್ರೀ ಆದಿನಾಥ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಬಸದಿ (ಶಾಸನ ಬಸದಿ)

ಈ ಬಸದಿಯು ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದ ಆದಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಗರ್ಭಗೃಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಭ. ಶ್ರೀ ಆದಿನಾಥ ತೀರ್ಥಂಕರರ ವಿಗ್ರಹ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪೀಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಗರಾಜನು ‘ಇಂದಿರಾ ಕುಳಗೃಹ'ವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖವಿದೆ. ಬಸದಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಇರುವ ಶಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಗರಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪತ್ನಿಯು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಬಸದಿಗಳ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಪರಮ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಾಮವನ್ನು ದಾನ ನೀಡಿದಂತೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶಾಸನ ಬಸದಿಯ ಎಡಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಳತ್ತೂರು ಸಂಘಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಕೆಲವು ಶಾಸನಗಳು ದೊರೆಯುವುದರಿಂದ ಇದು ಮೂಲತಃ ಕೊಳತ್ತೂರು ಸಂಘದವರು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಬಸದಿ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಬಸದಿಯು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಗರ್ಭಗೃಹ, ತೆರೆದ ಅಂತರಾಳ, ಆಯತಾಕಾರದ ನವರಂಗವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಮೇಲಿನ ಕಪೋತ ಅನೇಕ ನಾಸಿಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕೃತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಾಮುಂಡರಾಯ ಬಸದಿಯನ್ನು ಹೋಲುವ ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಾಲಾ ಅಲಂಕಾರವಿದೆ. ನವರಂಗವು ಆರು ಬಳಪದ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಂಬಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದು, ಮುಚ್ಚಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಟು ದಳ ಹಾಗೂ 12 ದಳದ ಕಮಲವಿದೆ. ಗರ್ಭಗೃಹದಲ್ಲಿನ ಭ. ಶ್ರೀ ಆದಿನಾಥರ ಪ್ರಭಾವಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಚಾಮರಧಾರಿಗಳು ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರಿಗಿಂತ ಪೂರ್ವಲಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿವೆ. ಗೋಮೇಧ ಯಕ್ಷ, ಕೂಷ್ಮಾಂಡಿನಿ ಯಕ್ಷಿಯರ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳಿವೆ. ಈ ಬಸದಿಯ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನನ ದಂಡನಾಯಕ ಗಂಗರಾಜ ಮಾಡಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Built in the early tenth century, this Basadi has undergone extensive alteration. An image of Lord Adinatha Tirthankara is installed in the sanctum. An inscription on its pedestal states that Gangaraja built the ‘Indira Kulagriha.’ The inscription in front records his grant of the village of Parama for maintaining Basadis built by his mother and wife. Inscriptions of the Kolattur Sangha found to the left indicate that this Basadi was originally built by that community. It has a small sanctum, open vestibule, and rectangular navaranga. The upper kapota is ornamented with many nasi motifs and carries decoration resembling Chamundaraya Basadi. A shala motif appears over the main door. The navaranga has six soapstone pillars and ceiling lotuses of eight and twelve petals. The aureole and fly-whisk bearers of the Adinatha image show pre-Hoysala features. Images of Gomeda Yaksha and Kushmandini Yakshi are also present. Gangaraja, general of Hoysala Vishnuvardhana, restored this Basadi.
