Kone Shantishwara Basadi is one of the north-facing Basadis on Chikkabetta and stands near the wall on the Lakkidone side. Because the hillside slopes here, the ground was levelled and a platform built to support the monument. An inscription records that Hiriyachayya, elder brother of Gangaraja, built this Hoysala-period Basadi in AD 1117. Its interior pillars and ceilings display Hoysala features, though the exterior does not. The parts of its base resemble those of Eradukatte Basadi and are made of hard stone. The Basadi contains a small sanctum, an open vestibule of the same size, and a navaranga. The square navaranga has ten pillars: four arranged east–west through the centre and three each on the north and south. Their bases are square, with lathe-turned circular shafts above. The brackets are simple, with a slightly projecting central band. A ceiling member in the navaranga is slightly raised. The Shantishwara sculpture belongs to the twelfth or thirteenth century. Above it is a stepped brick tower of the phamsana type.
