The Prime Minister of Ganga dynasty, Chamundraya consecrated the statue of Lord Bahubali on Vindhyagiri Hill. There were no temples or statues prior to this on the hill. Gradually inner pavilions, roofs on courtyards etc. were built for security. Mandap (porch) was built on the outside mandap and  Flag pillar were built in front of the entrance. One can enter the shrine through the Gullikayi Ajji Bagilu. Two Chamardhari Indras can be seen at the feet of Gommatswami. The Statues of 24 Tirthankaras where consecrated on both sides of the courtyard and gradually the entire circumference was designed as Choubees Jinalaya(Suttalaya). Most of these statues are 4-6 feet high. Suttalaya also includes some shasana gods (Yaksha)and goddesses (Yakshani). During the course of four hundred years, a simple pavilion was transformed into a cluster of mandaps, sanctums and vedikas. All of these together form Gommataswami Temple. If one goes around the temple of Lord Bahubali, one can find temple of Lord Chandraprabhu in the beginning as well as in the end. During the parikramana Kushmanadini Devi temple, foot prints of Ganadhar Dev, a small statue of Lord Bahubali and Acharya Nemichandra Peeth can be found.
