Welcome to

Shri Kshetra Shravanabelagola

Shravanabelagola occupies the top place among the holiest shrines of Jains. The final sruta of Mahavira Tirthankara’s 8th succession was that only Acharya Bhadrabahu Muni Maharaja and Maurya Emperor Chandragupta Prabha Chandra Munis along with 12 thousand sages came to Sravanabelagola from Ujjain to Kalavappa i.e. today’s Sravanabelagola in the third century BC i.e. about 2300 years ago. For their self-welfare and the tenets of Jainism, South India was very influential.  In 981 AD, Kalaladevi, the mother of the Ganga warlord Chamundaraya and Acharya Nemichandra Siddhant Chakravarti Munis came to Sravanabelagola and carved a beautiful 58.8 feet tall monolithic statue of Lord Baahubali Swamy on the Vindhyagiri hill and celebrated Mahamastakabhisheka every 12 years.  started  In addition to this, Acharya Nemichandra Siddhanta continued the Bhattarak tradition from the back of the Sri Math by placing the emperors on the pedestal for the preservation of the daily worship area of the idol and the daily pujas of the basadis.  In this tradition, a total of 19 Bhattaraks have been doing religious and social services for the preservation of the field. Under the Math, there are a total of three trusts and one Sangha, which are excelling in religious and educational work while also helping poor students pursue their education.
