Iruve Brahmadeva Temple

To the north of the north entrance to the enclosure is a solitary shrine known as the Iruve Brahmadeva temple consisting only of a garbhagriha enshrining a low relief figure of Brahmadeva. The inscription on the doorway of this temple ascribes it to about 950 A.D.There is a broken statue of Bharateshawar Swami on the hill. There is Euruwe Bramhadev temple at the outer ring. Nearby there are two ponds know as Kanchin Done and Lakki Done. During the another pond Jindev Done. during the descent, the Chamundarai Rock can be found on the right side. 62 of the 106 landmarks on Shravanabelagola are located on the Chhota Pahad, of which 47 belong to ascetics and 5 to householders.

If lot of iruve (ants) are found at home then people offer special prayers to the Brahmadeva here. Further, after offering prayers it is observed that the ants in the homes will be reduced. Hence the name Iruve Brahmadeva.
